Giants’ Odell Beckham Jr. Suffers Fractured Ankle Against Chargers

New York Giants All-Pro wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. suffered a fractured ankle in Sunday’s loss to the Los Angeles Chargers 27-22.

The Giants fourth-year receiver suffered the injury in the fourth quarter and was carted off the field.

ESPN’s Jordan Raanan reports Beckham will undergo surgery for the injury.

Beckham caught five passes for 97 yards and scored one touchdown prior to the injury and was just one of four wide receivers injured on the day for Big Blue.

Giants wide receivers Sterling Shepard and Brandon Marshall also exited Sunday’s Week 5 loss with ankle injuries and did not return. New York also lost wide receiver and return man Dwayne Harris to an injury in the third quarter and announced shortly later that he had suffered a fractured foot.

The Giants fall to 0-5 following Sunday’s loss, joining the Cleveland Browns and San Francisco 49ers as the NFL’s only winless franchises.

“You learn a lot about yourself in times like these,” Giants second-year head coach Ben McAdoo said after the game, via New York’s team website. “So you’ve got to work for yourself, work for your teammates. We’re all pros – this is what we get paid to do. We get paid to win, not just compete. So we’ve got to find a way to win.”

Update: The Giants reportedly “believe” Shepard suffered a sprained ankle.
