Titans QB Marcus Mariota, Raiders QB Derek Carr Not Expected To Play In Week 5 (REPORT)

Tennessee Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota (hamstring) and Oakland Raiders quarterback Derek Carr (back) are both officially listed as questionable for their teams’ Week 5 games but are not expected to play, according to multiple reports.

Titans head coach Mike Mularkey said on Friday that Mariota would be a “game-time decision” for Sunday’s game against the Miami Dolphins.

Update: Mariota has officially been declared inactive for Week 5.

Tennessee third-year quarterback suffered the hamstring injury in last week’s blowout loss to the Houston Texans and was a limited participant in practice all week.

With Mariota sidelined in Week 5, Titans veteran backup Matt Cassel is slated to get the start.

Tennessee’s front office signed six-year veteran Brandon Weeden earlier this week in case Mariota was unable to suit up.

While Mariota was projected to be a game-time decision, Carr seemed like a long-shot to play against the Baltimore Ravens after suffering a transverse process fracture in his back last week.

Raiders head coach Jack Del Rio said on Monday that the injury typically requires a two-to-six-week recovery, setting up EJ Manuel for his first start with the Silver and Black.

The former Bills quarterback amassed a 6-11 starting record during his first four seasons in Buffalo.

Update: Carr is officially inactive for Sunday’s game, the team announced.
