Miami Dolphins running backs Kenyan Drake and Damien Williams both proved themselves worthy of their waiver wire additions last week.
Adding impact players late in the fantasy season can be the difference in a championship team or missing the playoffs, making Week 10’s waiver wire additions that much more important.
Below is a list of the top five fantasy football waiver wire additions entering Week 10:
5. San Francisco 49ers WR Marquise Goodwin
Goodwin didn’t quite live up to expectations as a plug and play option in Week 9, but he still recorded two catches for 68 yards in the loss. San Francisco’s speedy receiver was targeted eight times against the Arizona Cardinals and will likely continue to be heavily involved in the offense with Pierre Garcon on injured reserve. The 49ers plan to start rookie quarterback C.J. Beathard in Week 10, but when Jimmy Garoppolo makes his debut, Goodwin’s fantasy value is sure to see a spike. Goodwin remains less than 12 percent owned in fantasy leagues.
4. New England Patriots RB Dion Lewis
New England’s versatile veteran running back remains less than 51 percent owned in fantasy leagues despite an increase in touches the past three games. Many fantasy owners have dropped Lewis during New England’s bye week, making him an instant addition in any leagues available. The 5-foot-8, 195-pound running back has carried the ball 39 times for 172 yards in the team’s last three games and is expected to continue to see an increased workload down the stretch.
3. Carolina Panthers TE Greg Olsen
The Panthers placed Olsen on injured reserve with a broken foot following Week 2, and Carolina’s top tight end’s percentage owned in fantasy football leagues has dropped to 50 percent. Olsen is eligible to return for the team’s Week 12 game against the New York Jets, and fantasy owners in need of a TE1 should snag the three-time Pro Bowler before it’s too late. The Panthers 6-foot-5, 255-pound tight recorded three consecutive 1,000-yard seasons prior to 2017 and should be in line for plenty of targets, especially after Kelvin Benjamin’s trade to Buffalo.
2. Baltimore Ravens RB Danny Woodhead
Getting players back from injured reserve can be a difference maker for some fantasy owners, and those in need of a running back should check to see if Woodhead is available in their fantasy leagues. The Ravens dual-threat running back was placed on injured reserve after suffering a hamstring injury in the team’s Week 1 win over Cincinnati. Woodhead suffered the injury on the team’s opening drive but not before catching three passes for 33 yards. The nine-year veteran running back is less than 28 percent owned in fantasy leagues and is slated to return after the team’s Week 10 bye week.
1. New York Jets WR Robby Anderson
Anderson takes the top spot on this week’s waiver wire list. The Jets second-year receiver has scored a touchdown in three straight games and has recorded over 50 yards receiving in four outings this season. Anderson remains less than 55 percent owned in fantasy leagues despite his impressive play and draws an extremely favorable matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 10.
